Accelerating Payroll and Compliance at RAVN Aerospace with Three Link Solutions

Challenges

RAVN Aerospace, a rapidly growing aerospace company and government contractor, faced increasing strain on its HR and payroll operations as the organization expanded, doubling in size year over year.

Core people processes were spread across multiple disconnected systems, requiring several logins, extensive manual work and offering limited mobile access.

Payroll processing relied on spreadsheets, emails and paper reports, often taking up to two weeks to complete, while onboarding new employees was time-consuming and difficult to manage.

As employees worked across multiple states with different and complex tax requirements, compliance risks grew, making it clear that RAVN needed a more reliable, scalable solution to support continued growth.

Objectives

RAVN set out to consolidate HR, payroll, time tracking and absence management into a single platform that could support rapid growth while meeting the strict compliance requirements that come with government contracting.

Leadership needed a solution that could be implemented quickly to meet an upcoming payroll and tax reporting deadline, reduce manual processes and improve payroll accuracy.

The goal was to simplify operations and establish a foundation that would support future automation and expansion.

Solution

With a hard deadline to go live for their next quarter’s payroll and tax reports, RAVN partnered with Three Link Solutions and selected Workday and the expedited Workday GO activation.

The rapid implementation took just over two months and focused on essential functionality, including Human Capital Management, Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence, while less urgent features such as Benefits, Learning, and Recruiting were intentionally deferred.

Three Link worked closely alongside the RAVN team throughout the process, supporting testing and launch readiness and helping the organization meet its required go-live deadline with confidence.

Results

Following deployment, RAVN Aerospace unified previously disconnected HR and payroll systems into a single platform, significantly reducing administrative effort. Payroll processing time was reduced from approximately two weeks to just two days, allowing employees to be paid accurately and on time.

In addition to improving efficiency, RAVN decreased its risk of compliance issues after Workday helped uncover state tax errors from a previous provider, strengthening compliance for a workforce operating across multiple states.

With core systems now stable, RAVN has a scalable, compliant foundation and is preparing to expand its use of Workday to support continued growth and organizational expansion.
