SERVICE: WORKDAY® STAFF AUGMENTATION
INDUSTRY: HEALTHCARE
Challenges
OU Health, Oklahoma’s largest health system, encountered significant challenges after transitioning ownership from HCA Healthcare to OU Medicine, Inc. The organization needed to restructure its human resource (HR) systems to align with its operational goals. OU Health went live with Workday in 2019, then quickly recognized the necessity for ongoing optimization to meet evolving business needs. Staffing shortages further complicated their efforts, creating a demand for additional support during this critical time.
Objectives
To establish itself as the employer of choice in Oklahoma, OU Health established a goal to implement a strategic HR system which would address the entire employee lifecycle. The objective was to create a comprehensive framework supported by technology, ensuring effective management of resources and streamlined processes.
Solution
OU Health partnered with Three Link Solutions to support the implementation of Workday and enhance its HR capabilities. Three Link provided vital staff augmentation solutions during the initial deployment and ongoing post-go-live services. The Three Link consultants were instrumental in managing processes such as day-to-day HRIS support, and projects like the new Common Paymaster functionality, adding benefit carriers and plans, and coordinating use of time tracking through Kronos. When OU Health transitioned away from the common pay system, reengaging familiar Three Link consultants facilitated a smoother adjustment due to their understanding of the organization’s culture and systems.
Additionally, Three Link’s expertise in integrations and security proved essential throughout various Workday release cycles, ensuring continuity and reducing onboarding time for new team members. This approach included knowledge transfer and mentoring, which helped strengthen OU Health’s internal capabilities.
Results
The collaboration with Three Link brought a sense of stability to OU Health during its multi-year HR transformation. The consistency of consultants has bolstered confidence in HR operations, enabling the organization to effectively navigate staffing challenges and optimize its systems. As a result, OU Health has made significant progress toward its strategic goals and is better positioned to achieve its vision of becoming a leading employer in the state of Oklahoma.
