Challenges
Columbine Health Systems, a privately-owned organization in Northern Colorado for over 53 years, faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly regarding staffing. With the transition to new leadership, the company sought to focus on sustainability and organizational effectiveness. Historically reliant on manual processes, including paper and Microsoft Excel, they were preparing for a significant system overhaul to Workday, aiming for a full platform launch on January 1, 2025. Columbine Health quickly realized they did not have the necessary functional or technical skills and personnel resources needed for this “big bang” changeover.
Solution
To address these challenges, Columbine Health partnered with Three Link Solutions for staff augmentation. Three Link provided essential resources, including a Workday HCM consultant and a Workday Financials consultant, to support the implementation process. Their expertise facilitated a smoother transition by offering a necessary layer of support between the system integrator and the Columbine team. The rapid response and effective communication from Three Link were pivotal in managing the process, addressing customer-side implementation tasks and resolving issues promptly.
Results
As Columbine Health nears go live, the collaboration with Three Link has allowed the organization to feel confident and prepared for the upcoming launch. In addition, the company has an additional layer of post-production support through Three Link, if needed. The presence of Three Link’s consultants has fostered a sense of stability, comfort and teamwork, enabling the Columbine staff to focus on building internal Workday competency and enhancing the HR department’s processes. The synergy established between Columbine and Three Link has assured the team that they are well-positioned for a successful go-live on January 1, minimizing the risks associated with potential delays.
